2011 Chamber Board of Directors
Sarah Sidwell -
President
I grew up in Moab hiking and 4-wheeling all over the red rock country. Later in life, I discovered the river and all the fun and adventure it had to offer. I didn't start out to be a guide, but kind of fell into it when I decided that I wasn't getting enough time outdoors. Tag-A-Long Expeditions hired me on and I quickly moved up through the ranks.
I am now a senior guide and Sales/Marketing Director of Tag-A-Long. I still love getting out and exploring and that’s where you can find me when I’m not at my desk. Moab is my home, and there’s no better place on earth!
Matt Mecham - Eastern Utah Comunity Credit Union - Vice President/Secretary Matt is the Branch Manager of Eastern Utah Federal Credit Union. While not a native to Moab, Matt and his family are grateful to call Moab home. Prior to his switch to a career in banking, for many years, Matt was a high school educator and athletic coach. He is an advocate for strong bonds between Moab’s business community and its schools. Matt is a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was awarded a bachelor’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and recently a MBA from the University of Phoenix. He looks forward to using the acquired knowledge to help members of the local business community. Matt and his wife are the proud parents of 5 children and enjoy participating in all of the incredible family activities that makes Moab special. Matt has been actively involved in a number organizations in Moab, including serving on the Board of Directors of the Moab Charter School and the Museum of Moab. He is also active in the adoption movement. Through his service, Matt hopes to help forge a strong bond between Moab’s past (the Museum), its present (the Chamber of Commerce), and its future (Moab Charter School). We love the Moab and the entire surrounding area. Moab is a wonderful place to visit, to live, to raise a family, and grow a business. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the current and future members of the Moab Area Chamber of Commerce, as well as the citizens and visitors of Moab.

Jason
Taylor - Past President - I am currently the Moab Area
Manager for Western River Expeditions and the Moab
Adventure Center. I have served on the Grand County
Travel Council and am currently on the board for the
Utah Guides and Outfitters. I understand that being
on the Board of Directors is a huge responsibility
and I am very excited about the board and the direction
the Chamber is heading. The Chamber is doing a great
a job and we need to carry this momentum forward in
the future and create a strong economic backbone for
the development of the community. My goals for the
Chamber of Commerce are to see the community grow economically
and to find creative situations to help main street
business grow in the next few years. We have challenges
we need to deal with now, such as main street road
construction, that if not dealt with, will have an
impact on all our businesses. We also need to look
at ways to make our community stand out and we need
to work hand in hand with local agencies to promote
our area to visitors outside of the area. We also have
a commitment to better our community for the people
of Moab. The Moab Area Chamber of Commerce is a vital
part of our community and I would welcome the opportunity
to be a part of such a strong organization.

Aubrey Davis - Board Member - Moab Music Festival
Bob Ott / Lodging Association Appointee I
am Bob Ott and together with my wife, Lila, we own and
operate the Moab KOA Campground and have done so for the
past 6 seasons. We moved here in 1999 from the Cleveland,
Ohio area where we were both professionals. I have been
a business executive and owner most of my adult life,
have a business degree and am familiar with all aspects
of owning and operating a business, though I have only
recently become involved in civic activities. I am currently
a member of the Moab Chamber of Commerce and the Moab
Lodging Association and sit on the board of the Lodging
Association. My view of the Moab Chamber of Commerce is
that it should be a good neighbor of the community and
assist businesses in being more successful and resourceful
in meeting the needs of the community, both the local
community as well as the tourist community. This includes
providing programs for the continuing improvement of local
businesses and being the businesses' advocate when dealing
with local government. I am aware of the demands and responsibilities
of being a board member and will dedicate the time and
effort necessary to make a contribution to the Moab Chamber
of Commerce,‚ its board and its goals.

Prior to getting involved in government I worked at Four Corners Mental Health as the Office Manager until I retired. I also worked for First Western National Bank for many years. I raised a family of seven children, of which I am very proud. We have 19 grandchildren that I adore. I love Moab, and love the people here.
